Set the plot area of the chart to "none."

In future, please type (or paste) your question into the message body also.
Thanks.

I am still not able to do it. I set the plot area to none and pasted on
slide with watermark sent to the back. The chart covers the watermark--it
can't be seen.
thanks for your help.

Try setting the chart area to none, then.

Dear Echo
Still can't get it. Pasting (both special and regular) chart from Excel but
the chart on top covers the watermark.

Thanks for you continued ideas.

Sorry, I don't know, then. I put a picture on my slide and changed the color
to "washout" using the Picture toolbar. Then I inserted charts on the slide.
It works fine here with both PPT's MS Graph and an Excel chart pasted onto
the slide. Even choosing to paste as an image from the paste options icon
works. I see the image below in all cases.

http://www.echosvoice.com/charts.htm explains the "recolor picture" option.
Maybe it will help. Worth a try, anyway.

Paul,
What Echo first said works here too in Office 2003. Are you sure you
are changing the "ChartArea" fill in XL to None? Or are you sure your
water mark is not behind the Plot area of the chart which you might
want to set the fill to none as well.

If you don't get it, send me the Excel file and the single page PPT
file to look at and I'll let you know. You can get my email by
dropping the not.
