How do I programme a pause in a number dialed from contacts?

I use tele conferencing a lot. To log on I dial a national number, wait for
an answer, then dial in a PIN. Is it possible to programme a pause in the
number dialled from Outlook contacts, in the same way as you can on most
phones?

You do this not in Outlook, but in your dialing properties for Windows. Use
the Phone and Modem applet in Control Panel. A comma is a 2-second pause.

Thanks Sue. I'm not sure what you intended me to do in control panel. I
couldn't find any reference to dialling pauses. However, I tried commas in
the dialing string in Outlook and it works fine. Many thanks.

Ken

Thanks Sue. Commas in the Outlook Contacts phone number work fine. I didn't
have to do anything in control panel.

Ken.

If you store phone numbers properly in Outlook in canonical format (+x (yyy)
zzz-zzzz) then Outlook will use your Windows dialing properties to dial the
number and properly add any pauses, credit card codes, etc. Maybe I
misinterpreted your question. I thought you were asking how to set that up.

I have a similar problem, using a PPC phone.

How do I program a HARD pause into outlook. the first number needs to be
answered, then the rest of the numbers can flow easily with timed pauses. But
I need to wait until the first number is answered by an automated system
before I can start the rest of the chain of events.

Most "regular" phones allow you to put a pound sign (#) for a hard pause,
then commas (,) for soft or timed pauses. Does outlook have a similar feature?

thanks in advance
