how do I program animation to automatically run at opening?

I have programmed different animation into a certain slide, but when I close
and r-open it or open it from an e-mail, it just opens flat - no animation
happens.
 
I think you just need to save your file as a PPS, which opens in show view.

Just File|Save As and choose PowerPoint Show *.PPS from the "as type"
dropdown list.
