How do I print selected text in Word.

I use Word 2003. I want to just print selected text in a document, but the
"selected" option in the print menu is always gray out. What's up?

If text is selected, the Selection option should be available. Do you have
something other than the text itself selected? Or perhaps you have
noncontiguous selections? If the latter, you'll need to copy/paste into a
new document and print that.
