Many printers have a setting to do this. Try printing one slide per page in
PowerPoint and then look for a setting for 8 pages / print in the printer
properties.

Exactly 8 is not possible natively within PPT (unless you only have 8 slides
to print.) You can print either 6 or 9 per page by printing Handouts and
setting the number of slides per page there. When you get ready to print
just select Handouts for what you want to print and then select the 6 or 9
slides per page setting.
With this setting you can also change the header and footer on the page by
using View, Handout master and setting the header and footer there.
