I have just assembled a new computer for video/tv capture work. My
motherboard is an Asus P4PE and I have one IDE hard drive and RAID 0
with 2 Western Digital 60GB hard drives (one connected to PRI_RAID1
and the other to SEC_SATA using a Serial ATA-to-Ultra ATA Adapter). I
want the RAID drives to power down when not in use. I can power down
the IDE using the BIOS, but how do I power down the RAID?

I've got an Asus P4B533-E.

I bought a switch and wired it so that it turns off the power to both my
RAID hard drives and also disables the onboard RAID controller using the
motherboard jumper pins.

I just decide whether or not I want the RAID array working before I boot up
the PC simply by flicking the switch to the on or off position.
