David

I have an MPEG file that I want to play in my ppt presentation. If inserted
directly, it won't play on ppt. However, in trying the "insert object"
function, I can't find media file as the help panel tells me to do. Any help
with this would be tremendous, as I must do this presentation tomorrow.

Lucy, thank you for your help. I downloaded some software that can convert
my mpeg2 file into various formats. I've now tried inserting the video as a
couple different formats into ppt, and the window in the slide shows the
initial frame of the video. However, when I click to play, nothing plays.
Any suggestions?

Hi David

That sounds like a path length issue to me:
1. Create a folder directly on your C drive (e.g C:\ppt)
2. Move ppt and videos files to this folder
3. Reinsert the video

Does it work now?

Lucy
