How do I password protect my Outlook2000?

I was thinking of installing it on my laptop, but was worried since I often
put confidential information in the Notes section of the contacts. How do I
password protect that, and is there a way of encrypting the PST files?

Go to the properties of your PST File in Outlook and you should find (under
Advanced) a way to set a password on the PST file.

The pst-file is encrypted by default. Setting a good password (rightclick
the Outlook Today folder-> Properties-> button Advanced) on it also helps
but can be stripped. You can also use encryption on the file level (NTFS
only) by browsing to the file in Explorer and rightclick it-> Properties->
button Advanced-> Encrypt data to secure data. Please note that this also
means that you can't even restore the data yourself when the laptop crashed
unless you've exported your security certificate.
