I followed the sugguestions that were posted on this site however this is not
the most optimal solution for my situation. I would like to work from two
presentation at one time. (I work from a notebook and a second LCD monitor.)
I would like to be able to open up two views, one on my notebook and the
second on the notebook.

Thanks,

Which link are you referring to?
Here's what you can do (a little tedious though):
Once connected to the second lcd monitor,
Go to desktop.
Right click and select properties.
Click on the settings tab.
Select the second monitor icon.
Put a checkmark to "Extend my windows desktop on this monitor.
Ok your way out.
Now, open the two PowerPoint files.
Do not maximize the PowerPoint window.
Instead, manually maximize it by clicking and dragging the size so that it
fills up the two views.
Finally, click Window > Arrange All to get the two presentations up, one on
each view.

If you mean stretching the PPT window across both monitors, it's true, it's not
optimal. But it's the only option.

Sorry ...
