i recently copied several files onto a disc whcih includes e-mails, word doc
etc. when i try to open the files it is opening as a pst and suggest i
download a program to "open with". i have no idea what program or how to
opne these files which i need desperately.

if you used a backup program, you will be able to open the files with the
same program. I use NTI backup now, and inside the program there is a restore
button. Dont know if this can help you, but check it out! :) i just
discovered the same problem last week, but i found out! Good luck!

This is not a FrontPage related issue.

pst files are for Outlook. You need to ask in an Outlook newsgroup.

Therefore you open *.pst files with Outlook.....!
You first need to copy the files back to your hard drive and remove the
'read only' attribute that occurs when files are burned to CD.
