I'd be interested to know the answer to that one, too. I just packaged up a
website and emailed it to my daughter as MHT. As she's using XP/IE6 it
probably won't work for her either, bugger. If only I'd known. Lovely,
Micro$not backwards compatibilty - not.

Associate them with Internet Explorer. Shift + Right click, always open
with...etc.

change you *.mht file extension to *.eml, try to open with Outlook, it
may work.

Yet there is a mht editor around, it's called WikiWriter ( search on
Google, it's freeware to edit singles "mht" files ).

I have no trouble opening .mht files using IE 6.0 and MyIE2
http://www.myie2.com/html_en/update.htm . Hope this helps.

My daughter tried to execute the MHT file I emailed her and failed.
She's new to computers, but the gist of what she told me of the system
messages is that it's security related.
Perhaps IE6 default settings are configured to reject Micro$not's own MHT
extension as an executable file which might contain malware/virus etc
triggered by javascript/vbscript embedded in the html.
When I get the chance, I'll try to reconfigure the settings in her IE6 and
see if that works and report back if I have any luck.

Problem is in OE, not IE. Have her set OE to open attachments of that file
type. Either that or (better) have her save it to disc then open the saved
file.

You have to have OE installed to open MHT files. I run IE6 and don't have
any problems with them.
