How do I open archived Outlook files, in Outlook, with a .pst ext?

I have saved and archived a number of old Outlook folders. Using Mircosoft
Exp. I try to open the file but I get a message that says it doesn't know how
to open it. This has to be very simple - just need a little help. Thanks

You can only open them from within Outlook. Use File | Open. You don't say
which version of Outlook you're using -- the sub-command under Open will be
either Special Folder (Outlook 97), Personal Folders File (Outlook 98 &
2000), or Outlook Data File (Outlook 2002 & 2003).

Outlook Express cannot open Outlook .pst files at all. If Outlook and
Outlook Express are on the same computer, you can import the messages
from the Outlook .pst file into Outlook Express by using File > Import
in Outlook Express.
