How do I open a .fdf file?

You have to modify the file type FDF and tell windows to ask when opening
any file of type FDF. This is done in windows explorer--tools, folder
options--file types. Select FDF and click on 'advanced'. Check the 'confirm
open after download' checkbox.

When you try to opend an FDF file, tell windows to save the file. Once
windows has saved the file, there will be a button to open it. Click the
Open button and the file will be opened correctly.

Not the best way to do it but it will work.
