How do i Network?

I have a new Dell computer running windows XP home and a
Laptop that is running Windows ME. The Dell has an
ethernet jack on the back of the computer but no phonline
jack. The Laptop has both. How am I able to network
both of them together so they can share files, use the
printer and use the internet?
