If someone could just direct me to an easy do it yourself
instruction website, I would appreciate it. I've looked
all over and can't find the NOOB place to find basic step
by step instructions.
I want to be able to set two computers up to be able to
share files and to play games together without first
logging into an ISP. I currently have the following setup.

1. Both computers have Ethernet cards and are networked
together on an Ethernet hub which I installed.
2. Both computers are hooked into an ADSL Broadband
account, and can access the Internet at the same time.
(both have different IP addresses, of course).
3. I can play games online with both computers at the same
time, and the same game, but I MUST log into the ADSL
modem and go through my ADSL service in order for this to
work. This is not convenient for all games because of the
extremely high ping rate and lag I get on the non-server
computer.
4. I just want to be able to have one computer be able to
access the other computer (internally) without having to
log into my ADSL Service.
5. Additonally, I would like to be able to view the
contents of one computer with the other in order to enable
easy file transfers, etc.

You don't need to baby me along....I can read and learn
myself,,,,I just need to be pointed to the correct place
to find the step by step instructions to set this up.

Thanks for your help and assistance,

Hi

You may find this link useful, its a good read and contains some good information
http://www.hardwarecentral.com/hardwarecentral/tutorials/3/1

I find that most of the Microsoft website information is for I.T. proffessionals, it all seems second nature to me now but when i first started Server research it was very daunting

Good luck, and any questions you may have feel free to ask
