how do I move inbox files to the deleted file and not open it?

When I move a file to the deleted folder it opens automatically. I do not
want it to open like that. It may be a file that is junk or spam and I want
no tracer to find my PC. What can I do? I previously had it working.

Um, it's already on your host in your e-mail client's message store. So how
does YOU not seeing it magically make it never on your host?

If you don't want an e-mail to open when you select it, don't use the
Preview pane.
