How do I manually remove a Program from "Add or Remove Program Scr

I have tried to Remove Print Shop using the Control Panel - Add and Remove
Programs and it didn't work, so I deleted all appearances, files and folders
of the software everywhere I could find it... including the Registry.
It no longer appears anywhere except on the Add or Remove Program screen,
and I cant figure out where that is populated from..
I tried to reload the software, so I could try another uninstall, but it now
fails to load, so I trashed the disk. It was old and out of date anyway.
Any ideas... or do I just need to learn to live with it?

The safest and most reliable way to uninstall software is to let the
program's own uninstaller do the job. That's why we always recommend
reinstalling the program when a previous uninstall has failed.

But that's not an option for you now, since you trashed the disk. Here's
Print Shop technical support:
http://support.broderbund.com/faq_list.asp?id=1294820992

Thanks for the info... but I forgot to mention that it is Print Shop V12,
which is no longer supported by Broderbund. I attempted to load it just so I
could open a file that someone had sent me... bad idea. It never loaded
completely the first time, so it couldn't be uninstalled. It's only
appearance is on the list of Programs, but does not exist anywhere else that
I can find, so I don't believe it is the softwares fault.
Where does the Add and Remove Software page gets it's input from? Is it in
the registry?

I've used this utility in the past:

http://support.microsoft.com/KB/290301

The readme file is useful. Here's an excerpt:

" The Windows Installer configuration management information can become
damaged if any of the following issues occur:

- The computer's registry becomes corrupted.

- A registry setting that is used by the Windows Installer is
inadvertently changed, and this change results in a problem.

- The installation of a program that uses Windows Installer (for
example, Microsoft Office 2003) is interrupted.

- There are multiple instances of a setup program running at the same time,
or
an instance of a setup program is "blocked." "

Have a trawl through
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. One
of the entries there will be the one you're after.

Olorin...

Thanks much... It took awhile to go thru the many that were there, but I
finally found what I was looking for and deleted it. It is no longer in the
Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs page.

I am surprised that an Advanced search thru system and hidden files and text
could not find it.. This is a place to remember in the future.

Thanks again...

You're welcome - and thanks for posting back with the outcome!
