Hi All,
I've been trying to figure out how to get the best from 3 hard drives....
Hard drive 1 SATA
Hard Drive 2 SATA .. just sitting there
hard Drive 3 IDE ... just seitting there

I tried to put the page file on Hard Drive 2 with Vista but not sure I did
this correctly.
Can you guys help?

It depends on what you mean by 'best' - Fastest? Safest? Easiest to use?
Easiest to upgrade? Personally I'd have XP on the IDE drive, Vista on Sata 1
and all my data, music, photos, website, software installers, videos etc on
Sata 2. That way I can change/remove/upgrade operating systems without
putting my data at risk. Colin

On my notebook, I have 3 hard drives, one internal, one firewire, and one
USB. My configuration is as follows.
I am only running 5600 on my computer. I figure what the hell, go all the
way. Besides, I ate switching from OS to OS. Might as well do it all in one.

Anyway, Vista is loaded on my internal, and apart from the programs running
in Vista, that is all that is on my internal.
My D: drive (USB) holds program exe's like Office 2007, Virus scan, and any
other downloadable program that I use in Vista, as well as back ups for my
drivers. Lets be honest, it is a Beta, hope for the best, expect the worst. I
also keep a full computer backup on my D: drive, using the Backup utility in
Vista. This has saved my butt once already, so I am going to keep that up to
date.
My E: drive, (Firewire) holds all my important files, (movies, music, saved
documents, etc.) That way, if I do wipe my whole system out, I still have my
important stuff, whether I stay with Vista, or end up going back to MCE 2002.
Either way, it stays safe, virus free and bug free.

Honsetly, that is about the best configuration I can see for a 3 hard drive
system.

However, if you are going to keep XP as well, Load XP on C:, Vista on D:,
and everything that is important on your 3rd drive. And remember to keep a
back-up of everything if possible. I would say to the extent of maybe even
partitioning the Vista drive and putting your back-ups on it, if it is large
enough..

That's just my opinion, others may disagree..
