How do I make IE my Default again

Yes I checked it. Just to be safe, I unchecked it and checked it again.
But when I launch IE, I don't get a message to ask if I want to make IE the
default.

It clearly is not. When I click on a link, it launches FireFox. I don't
want to uninstall FireFox either. Just change IE to my default browser.

Thanks

Seems to be working correctly now.
The only thing that bothers me is that I have an IE shortcut on my desktop.
The icon display Firefox. I can manually change the icons... I realize that
but I shouldn't have too. This tells me that something else (system) still
sees FireFox as a default.

JCO,
You may have to go into Firefox's Settings, if there is an option to make
Firefox the default browser. That this option is turned off.

JCO, always state your Windows version when posting to a MS newsgroup,
please.

Try "Set Program Access and Defaults". You can get there from Add/Remove
Programs, or possibly, depending on your Windows version and options, from
the Start Menu.

I went to FireFox and the default button is unchecked.
I'm running windows 2000, IE 6 (and all updates).

Thanks Frank and Gary,

Even my problem seems to have got resolved. Though Firefox was good -I
wanted IE as my default browser and had a nightmare to restore defaults
-until I read this article!

To resolve this, I had even uninstalled Firefox. This resulted in IE loading
pages without the IE logo (in the address bar) -Instead there was an unknown
image displayed.

Yahoo Messenger failed to initiate a browser (after uninstalling Firefox)
upon clicking the Games / Launchcast links...

Looks like all this is resolved now -I had a messy experience with firefox
to say the least!
