How do I make a signature line?

I am trying to make a document that someone else can type into.
Specifically, I need to draw lines that stay stationary. Is there a way to
lock the line once it is created so that it doesn't jump or expand? Help!

If you are saying "lines of text," you could make the document into a form
with text fields in them. Forms are a good for things like form letters, fax
cover pages, etc where a majority of the text stays the same.

If you are talking about a drawing of a line, right click the drawing area
--> go to Format Drawing Canvas --> Layout Tab --> advanced. There, you can
change the vertical or horizontal position to be absolute to a margin rather
than the text. This will in a sense "lock it in place."

Hope this helps!

If the signature is going to be written by hand on the printout, just use a
line of underline characters, or set a tab stop and tab to it and underline
the tab, or give the tab a leader... See
