How do i make a log or list for home movie collection?

well i am trying to make a list for all the movies that i own. i want to put
them in alphabetical order and put them in catoregories such as comedy horror
etc. is there a way that i can make this happen?
 
I would recommend using Excel instead.

If you have MS Acess as part of your Office package, I believe there is a
template pre-made ready to use that catalogs DVD's in the on-line templates.
It was written for Acess 2000, but should work on your version.
