How do I make a DVD?

I've finished the project all I have to do is finalize it, I've tried
different thing but my dvd player never seems to read the cd it says "Cannpt
read disc" or something of the sort. I use Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6
and 700mb CD-R all purpose cd's. Can anyone help?

Discs made by Movie Maker put WMV files on them... and today's DVD players
can't read them... you need to use other DVD creation software, such as
those commented on in the DVD software section of my website.

I'm not using Movie Maker to make the dvd, I'm using Roxio. What format does
the movie need to be finalized in and what does the cd need to be made as for
it to work on a dvd player?

If you are burning on a CD for use in a standalone DVD player you need to
make a VCD and yes, by default VCDs are finalized.

You need to make "DVD Video".

For best results you should save the movie in DV-AVI format and import that
into Roxio East CD/DVD creator and create a VCD.
