I have a laptop at home and a PC at my shop. Both are running XP
Professional. I have set the one up at the shop to accept incoming remote
desktop and have tried to connect using Remote desktop from my laptop. It
doesn't happen. The laptop is connected to the net via a broadband wireless
(Belkin) connection. The PC at the shop is connected to the net via a
broadband cable connection.
All I am asked for when I use remote desktop is my user name and password.
How do I actually get my laptop connected to my remote computer to enable me
to actually log in using remote desktop?
I am a beginner with XP and have been trying everything I can find under the
help option, but none of it actually connects the computers. I even tried
using Remote Desktop Web Connection, but that asks me for a server name and I
don't have a server, just a lone PC. How does my laptop find my shop
computer amongst all the millions of other computers on the net? Is that a
silly question? I just can't figure it out.
I am hoping someone here can help me.
