My hard drive has many duplicate WORD and EXCEL files on it. Is their a quick
(simple) command to locate duplicate files so that I can erase the duplicate
file quickly?

There is a program called NoClone that will indicate duplicate files but
it's not free. It does have a free trial period tho. (Works pretty good
too!)

Hi,

Try Duplicate Finder v3.0, This program is fast in searching duplicate
files with easy and good interface.

Duplicate Finder does byte by byte, CRC32 and same filenames
comparisons and allows you to batch mark and batch delete or move the
dupes. Main view shows all file details so you can combine that with a
quick review to be sure you're not moving or deleting anything you
don't want to. It also have popup resizable picture viewer to view
picture files.

Search duplicate file contents regardless of file name, Duplicate MP3s,
photos, and any file type can be searched.

Duplicate Finder protect system files and folders to exclude them from
scanning. It means you are not going to delete files which is required
by the operating system.

Download free trial version from: http://www.ashisoft.com

NoClone can facilitate you defining the search criteria, i.e. you can
search with combinations of search options like, zero size files,
duplicates, same file name files, etc.
However, Duplicate Finder can only choose 1 searching option in each
searching.

Also, NoClone can help you finding truncated files whereas the other
one cannot do so.

As you have many duplicate WORD & EXCEL files, "partial file name
check" from NoClone can definitely help you.
You can search by either the exact file name or file extension.

You can try NoClone at:
