Hi, I'm very new to webpage design and I'm trying to make an active desktop
where I have things like my music, movies and programs all available as part
of my desktop. The only way I can see of linking to directories so far is to
set up an ftp server and use that to access my stuff. However the page I have
so far refuses to go to these directories. Can anyone help?? Or maybe suggest
a better way rather than ftping myself.

FrontPage????

One thing I can tell you is never use FTP on a FrontPage website!
It will break the FrontPage extensions on the server and then you will not
be able to publish your site normally.
Also some things (on your site) might stop working...

When working on your site do it in FrontPage...
I don't understand what you want the "desktop" to do with your site.

I would suggest you post to the Windows newsgroup using your desktop as web page.
