I thought I knew how to do this, but it isn't working. I am working in a
group and we are doing a 3 page summary and a powerpoint to go along with it.
We can only upload one attachment so I am trying to create a hyperlink on
the opening slide that takes someone to our paper. It works on my screen,
but when I attach it and open it and try it, it won't link to the word
document. It gives me an error message. Any help???

I have XP, Word and PowerPoint 2003

This is the message I am getting...

Just exactly are you trying to accomplish this.. You're a little vague. I
tried it on mine to see if it would work. I just typed a click here link and
liked it to the file I wanted to open up.

So, if it's more than that, need to know more details.

I'm having to guess here because you've left out some (probably important)
information, but it sounds as if you're uploading something to some kind of online
courseware or content management system.

If it's the PPT file, then the link to the Word file won't work (you'd have to
upload the word file as well, and since you say you're allowed only one
attachment, that sounds like a non-starter).

However, if you EMBED the Word file in your PPT, it may work (unless the PPT is
converted to some other format like HTML by whatever system you're uploading to).

Do Insert, Object, click Create From File and browse to your Word file. Don't
checkmark "Link".
