I somehow lost the ability to keep multiple windows open so I can switch from one to another with the window saved on the bottom toolbar. How do I restore that function

Right now if I minimize a window and open a new one, the minimized one is replaced with the new one. I want to keep both open...how do I do that? THANKS!

Rick;

Try this:

Right click a blank area of the Taskbar | Properties |
UNCheck: Group similar taskbar buttons | Apply | OK
[[Displays taskbar buttons for files opened by the same program in the same
area of the taskbar. In addition, if the taskbar becomes so crowded with
buttons that the width of the buttons shrinks beyond a certain width, then
the buttons for the same program are collapsed into a single button.
Clicking the button lets you access the document you want. Right-clicking
the button lets you close all the documents you want.]]
