How do I keep from running programs as soon as I log on?

As soon as everything finishes loading from when I first
turn on my PC, it starts running programs. Like it
starts dialing my internet and my adaware program starts
running. How do I keep XP from doing this? It drives my
crazy!! Thanks.

You can try msconfig>startup - if the program(s) are listed there, uncheck them. There may be an option in the appropriate problem to stop it from starting with Windows.

click start run and type msconfig and check the startup tab
