how do I install windows media codecs?

I downloaded K-Lite Codec Pack basic. I have wmp 9, but I cannot find any
directions on how to install these codecs so I can play my DVD like I used
to. (I already emailed K-Lite support, but got no reply.)

Is there an inf file? If so, right click it and select "install"
