How do I install Outlook 2002 if Office 97 is on my system?

I tried to install Office 2002 Professional, an upgrade, on top of Office 97,
and could not install Outlook 2002. If I delete (where to find it?) Office
97, can I still complete Outlook 2002 installation? Thank you. Jim.

Delete it in Control Panel's Add and Remove Programs applet.
