I feel foolish, however; I am having trouble importing my pst file from my
old laptop to my new laptop

Try this way :

File | Import and Export | Import From a Program or File | personal folder
file pst. That should do the trick if you have the PST on a CD or floppy.

Importing is the wrong choice for transferring Outlook data.
Open the PST file. Copy what you need from it.

I'm having the same problem. How do I open my PST file. I keep getting a
message saying the Outlook can't open the file.

You seem to know alot about this, so I will ask you if you can help me with
my problem. My O/S crashed, I was able to save the data so when the new O/S
was loaded I imported my PST file from my old Office XP to the new Office XP
Outlook. Everything came in fine except my Contact Subfolders do not show up
in the drop down when I click on TO:, .CC or .BCC to add email address's.

Post your Outlook version, how you created this PST file, and a more
accurate depiction of the error message.

Importing is not a good choice for transferring data.
Hopefully, all you need do is enable these subfolders as email address books
in their properties.
