When I try to configure Microsoft Outllook for an Exchange Server profile,
the Microsoft Exchange is not on the listing for the information services.

what version of outlook- see help, about if unsure.

I'm assuming you meant Outlook 2000 SR-1. In what mode is it installed, IMO
or C/W?

I have had several people ask me how to fix this as well. In my case, all
of the computers are set up in a workgroup setup. Most of these folks, for
whatever reason, had highlighted the Microsoft Exchange Server service in the
services list to add a service to their profile and deleted the service from
the list. I have yet to figure out how to put that service back in the list.
If either of you can provide me with information on how to resolve it, it
would be appreciated.

Services are usually listed in a mapi.inf file, try comparing a known good
configuration against a dodgy one, the file can be opened in a text editor.

I've checked my computer at work and there is no MAPI.INF file on it. The
only MAPI file that I have is MAPI.DLL and it isn't text-only. Any other
ideas on file names that might be used to list the available services in the
Services List?

I am very sorry but I have lead you slightly astray the file should be
mapisvc.inf and not mapi.inf

Well, I finally found a computer that hadn't been reimaged that had this
problem. I replace the MAPISVC.INF file on their computer with the copy from
my computer and rebooted (just to make sure) and it did not resolve the
issue. Any other ideas?
