How do I insert 3 vertical lines on a page?

I need to create a template for powerpoint presentations that will have the
slide divided into 3 sections for each topic. I can't seem to find specific
instructions (or perhaps, the correct wording) to get these lines in place on
a page.
 
Could you go into a little more detail about what you are asking? I can
interpret what you have asked as anything from duplicating grid lines to
adding additional placeholders (can't) to designing a custom
background/layout/template.

How do you want the finished slide to act/look?
