How do I import a spreadsheet from Windows XP to Access?

I'm trying to import an Exel spreadsheet from Windows XP to Access 2000. At
the end of the process, there is an error message. It only states there has
been a "error" with no details.

I previously tried to import the spreadsheet, but I had both XP and 2000
version of Excel. So, I removed the 2000 version. (The program is forward
compatible, correct?) I understood it to make an easy transfer of information
either way, but wanted to keep the newest version of Excel on my pc.

What could possibly be the error here?
 
The version is probably not the problem. It is most likely there is a data
format problem. Usually, when there is an import error, a table will be
created that will show the errors. It will be the name of the file you are
imorting + $'_ImportErrors
Look for a file name like that, and it may help you resolve the problem.
