I send emails to groups, but when the contacts open their email, everyone's
name/email address is displayed. I only want the group name to be displayed.
How do I go about this?

Put the addresses in the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field of the mail header.
If that field doesn't show while you're composing a E-mail go to the View
menu and select 'BCC Field'.

This will not display the group name, it will only hide the recipients. If
you want to try to place the name of your Distribution List in the To:
field, this MS KB article may help:

I am using OE6. Do these instructions apply? I printed it out, and it
doesn't look like it will.

Of course not. Post in the right group next time. OE has nothing to do with
Outlook whatsoever.
This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
outlook express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x

A good website for information on OE is:
http://www.tomsterdam.com/
