I am nervous about asking a question, after reading the suggestions about
this issue. A friend set me up with Outlook instead of Outlook Express.
After using outlook express for all these years, i am mystified by outlook. I
want to give it a try for my friend, but i have just come away from a hacker
experience which was so bad, i had to buy a new computer. I also have to
start a new address book.

2 questions: How do i get this program to enter addresses into contacts with
my having to do it, and how could i add 50 odd addresses at the same time?
English please. I don't even know what a pst is...many thanks, Mary

You still have Outlook Express. If all you need is email, Outlook may very
well not be the tool for you.

Your buying a new computer doesn't impede the hackers in any way. The
protective applications you run are what will do that.
I also have to start a new address book.

You can pull your Outlook Express addresses into Outlook if you wish.

Tools>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and Addresses will allow you to
pull in your contacts from Outlook Express. A PST is a "Personal Folders
file". It's where Outlook stores its data, just like Outlook Express stored
it in DBX or MBX files (depending on version).
