When I first got my tablet PC I was able to sign e -mails and scribble
handwritten notes on them. This feature now seems to be greyed out. It still
works fine on Word. Any idea how I could reactivate the function?

You have to use Outlook instead of Outlook Express and you must use Word as
your email editor in Outlook.

You have to use HTML for the default message format (instead of Rich Text or
Plain Text) and Ink Annotation doesn't work:

You cannot use the Word 2003 Ink Annotation toolbar when you send e-mail by
using Outlook 2003

Other than that, you might also want to ask in the TabletPC newsgroup. I
have a tablet (Motion M1400), but I rarely use direct ink writing in email.
