How do I get Windows Explorer to remember startup shape & position?

I don't like the default shape & position that Windows
Exlorer starts up in, so I always resize and reposition
it. After I close it and restart it, it sometimes
remembers it's last shape & position, but not always. Any
idea what's going on and how I can get it to always start
up using the shape & position I last closed it in?
 
You need a little more than just as you said. Open 2 windows, stretch out
the second window close the first window and then the second window. You now
have the default as the stretched out window.
