Hi,

In business contact manager I just noticed that some names display as first,
last; while others display as last, first. Is there a way to get a
consistent naming? I have verified that first, last was entered correctly in
the approporiate fields; I notice that on the header bar of the contact when
pulled up individually it displays correctly; However, in the main body of
the contact it can show up as either last, first or first, last which is very
annoying. I have tried to do several things as described by the basic help
menus with no success.

Thanks,

I think you might be talking about the File As field and not the Full Name
field? If so, go to Tools|Options|Contact Options and set it up there as you
want it to be for all NEW Contacts that you import or enter. Notice the new
part. Much to my annoyance, the only way to reset all the existing Contacts
to the new format (that I've found anyway) is use File|Import/Export to
export your existing BCM DB to a .bcm format, make the settings changes you
want in Outlook Tools|Options, then import the exported database back into
your Outlook BCM install. OR manually edit each Contact. And if I've missed
something, pls. somebody speak up, this is VERY painful. On BCM V2, not yet

Thanks Susan:

My workaround that I finally figured out was to manually change each of the
messed up Full Name Fields by cutting the First Name and Pasting into the
Middle Name Field, Saving, and then going back in and correcting...this was
the quickest way for me. I don't understand how a Full Name field looks
approriate to the software designer as Mr. Smith Jim Ph.D with no way to
change the ordering in this particular field, except in the cases you
describe. When I talked to the Microsoft Expert she stated there was nothing
I could do...that I had to accept it...which ticked me off becuase I had to
pay $35...though she stated they would refund my credit card.

Cheers,
