I want to connect to my Dad's pc that is running XP Pro, using Remote
Desktop, from my XP HE pc. I don't know what to enter for the Computer name
in the initial Remote Desktop Connection window.
Where do I tell my Dad to find this information?

Thanks,
Kurt

1) Open the System folder in Control Panel. Click Start, point to Settings,
click Control Panel, and then double-click the System icon.
2) Click on "Computer Name".

You will find "full computer name" underneath, however, I believe you you
might need actual IP address, to find your IP address,

1) Start -> Run
2) Enter cmd.exe to bring up command window
3) in command window, enter "ipconfig"

it will shows you ip address of your dad's machine, use this address on the
remote desktop connection window to connect. in addition, you will also
need to enable remote desktop, you can find how-to on

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/gomobile/remotedesktop/default.asp

Hope this help.
