How do I get the accept button to show in Outlook 2002?

I cannot accept or reject appointment requests in Outlook 2002. The response
menu will not allow me to accept it on the customize tool bar. Accept/Reject
buttons are not an option given on the customize tool bar either.

Buttons don't exist, and I can't even add them.

So... how do you know it’s a meeting request?

Because I can respond to it on my ppc phone with accept or reject. Along
with anybody else that receives the meeting request. And I'm not an idiot!
