Everytime I turn my computer on I get the "Log on to
windows" box. It will ask me for my user name and
password. I never type anything in there, I just hit ok
so XP can start up. How do I get rid of this box? I
don't need it. I'm the only one who uses this computer.

.. Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.
.. Type in the following:
control userpasswords2
.. now click OK
.. In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the
primary logon.
.. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.
.. Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the
selected users password.

Click OK.
The changes will work the next time you restart your computer.

Start - Run, run
control userpasswods2

Uncheck the box 'Users must enter a username. . .' and Apply - you will
be asked to specify the username (and password if any. or leave that
blank) for the logon
