how do i get rid of all the icons

i want to know how do i get rid of all the icons next to
the time (startup icons) they are not in the start up
file in my start menu...

Take a look at the freeware utility StartupCPL from
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

With StartupCPL you can temporarily or permanently remove/disable most stuff
that starts automatically at boot-up.

But i'd suggest that you make sure that you don't disable anything that your
PC must have running - some things are essential.

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig. Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck
accordingly. Then run this script to remove the disabled items from the
registry.

what do u realy want to do? remove icons or prevent programs
being executed? if 1st is the case, then rightclick on taskbar
properties >customize

and if u want to remove programs from starup list [type]
"msconfig" in "run" dialog and switch to startup tab

ps. most programs can be preventer from "auto running" by
enableing or disableing that option somewhere in that program's
properties, that option is offten called something like; "enable
to run on system startup" or somethind like that
