how do I get read only files from my old ME computer onto my XP

I'm trying to put my files from an older Me system that has crashed onto an
XP. I have the files on a CD R but it keeps denying me access and saying the
files are locked by another user. Also how do I get my address book into the
new outlook personal address book from outlook 2002?
Thanks for any advice, I've tried taking the read only off but it just gives
me an error.
 
Outlook has no address book.
State the format of this file and how you created it.
No Outlook Data file can be opened from a CD. It must be moved to a hard
drive and have its read only attribute removed.
 
Thanks that worked to get it onto my xp document list. How do I put it into
the contact list on outlook? I have outlook 2002.

Open it.
File > Open > Outlook Data File.
Then copy what you want from it into your current Outlook Data file.
