How do I get my Hotmail-Receiving (Live Mail) into Outlook?

I'm using Microsoft Live Mail beta to receive my Hotmail. I want to receive
my email in Outlook. Outlook continues to give me an error message saying
that they can't connect with the server. I'm told that in setting up the
account on Outlook, I'm supposed to use Windows Live Mail instead of Hotmail.
I would do that if I could figure out how to.

Tools -->Account settings --> then click New button. Choose first choice
Microsoft server Exchange, Pop3, IMAP or HTTP. Then click next.
Then fill in your info. then click Next.
Then you get screen showing outlook connecting. First time around I got
some pop message about secure something, then I clicked okay and it just when
ahead and configured things.
Second time around this pop up message didn't occur. Just make sure you are
typing the password the same way. It asks you to type it twice. And make
sure if you have more than one email under your passport account you are
filling in the right email info for the one you want to include.

Hope this helps...

Why don't you just use Outlook express
I've been using my hotmail account with Outlook express for the last 3
years. (Haven't actually tried it in Outlook though)
Haven't paid a cent for my account.

Since when do people pay for hotmail accounts (considering most secure
websites won't accept a hotmail (or gmail) address for creating
accounts), and what are the benifits anyway?? Apart from spamming..

Microsoft recently joined the bandwagon of free email services who now
charge a small amount of money to receive their email in Outlook or Outlook
Express rather than just the web mail client. Yahoo! Mail was one of the
first to remove access to Outlook/Express for anything except paid accounts.
You obviously have a grandfathered account but it may not free forever.
