I need a phone number or internet contact to order a
replacement Windows XP home disk that has gotten damaged.
My daughters computer crashed and I cannot get my windows
disk to allow me to load the XP program on her replacement
hard drive.
I need to know how to contact Microsoft for a replacement
XP home disk. This is the 3rdd replacement disk I have
needed. The first replacement they sent me got broken in
the mail, they sent me another replacement and now that
one has gotten scratched and will not install.

Also is it possible to make a back-up copy for my own use
only so I can store away my replacement original?

Thanks for any and all help!!
George

You can make a copy(copies) of the CD for backup. I would
use the copy for daily use and keep a copy at home and put
the original in a bank vault.

If the CD is a retail full or upgrade, MS will replace it,
there may be a service/shipping fee.

If it is an OEM CD supplied with a new computer, such as
Dell or Gateway, you'll need to contact them.

I read it, but thought that to prevent confusion, that
posting both answers, those poor souls with OEM branded CDs
would not bother asking MS to replace their CDs. Also, I
posted the MSKB article link.

And if they knew how to replace the CD twice, why did they
forget?

| You did not read the original post! MS had replaced the
XP CD twice
| already.
