How do I get a presentation to open as a slide show only.
I want the presentation to only be accessible as a slide
show that can be moved through with hotlinks.
Thanks for any help
Lynn

Hello Lynn,

Even in the latest version of PowerPoint (2003), presentations opened via
the File menu will always open up in an editing view (regardless of file
extension). In other responses to your post, workarounds have been
suggested using the *.pps (PowerPoint Show) file extension and opening
presentations from the Windows shell.

However, if it's still important to you (or anyone else reading this
message) that you be able to force presentations to come up in slide show
view automatically (even when opened from the File menu), don't forget to
send your feedback to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.
