I have some Flash, WMP, and Quick Time videos on my site. I want visitors to
be able to download them insted of streaming them. When I right click and
'Save Target As' it only downloads a short cut. How do I set them up so the
whole file downloads?

Thanks, that works. But, I'll have to fool around with the 'packaging’ a
bit. After downloading Flash file the user has to unzip it, open the folder,
and then click on the HTML file to get the video to start. Do you have any
hints or suggestions about making it a bit easier?

Jim

WMP is I little better, just open the folder and click in the icon and it
plays.

message Zip them.

I dunno. I was thinking maybe a self-extracting zip file but i think those are exe's which would scare most people.

Well, if I let the students it's OK, that would work.

How do I do that?

You would create a self extracting zip with WinZip...however, I don't think this will work because it's an .exe and I don't think you can't download an .exe I think they're blocked.

I'l give it a shot and let you know....

Thanks!

hmmmm...maybe you could zip the self-extracting zip .exe.
might be more confusing to the downloading party.

Zipped WMP & QT. Download workd fine. did you know you can watch them
without extracting them?

I never tried it, but assumed it should work since you can view anything else unzipped as well.

Glad it workd for ya!
