How do I get a Download menu to pop up when someone clicks on pdf?

How do I get the "open or save" menu I see other places when you click on a
pdf on a web site. Rather than just have the pdf open I wanted to give the
person browsing the choice of opening or saving the document. Also will
thesamething work for word files? Thanks

Not possible if the user has Acrobat reader (or MS Word) installed
- but the download file in a Zip file

Either Right-click and save-as, or as below, put the file in ZIP folder.
