How do I force sent mails to be plain text, not HTML?

Hi,
In OE6 there is a handy feature "Reply to msgs using the format in which
they where sent" in Tools - Options - Send. When I want to force each
outgoing email to be sent as plain text, I just uncheck that (and select
plain text as Mail Sending Format).
AFAICT there is no way to do that in OE2000, ar am I missing something?
TIA!
Mike

- Oops! Typo! Please read: "AFAICT there is no way to do that in OE2000, ar
am I missing something?"
- Cool! You cloaked your email addy! LOL

message First, there is no Outlook Express 2000, but there is an OE6. If you asking
about OL2000 (Outlook 2000) you've posted to the wrong newsgroup.

If you are asking about using OE6, uncheck the option in Tools/Options/Send
to "reply to messages using the format in which they were sent" and set your
mail to use Plain Text vs. HTML.

Assuming you mean Outlook Express 6, which you posted with, you need to
upgrade to OE6 SP1 and then go to Tools | Options | Read and check the
appropriate box.

Wrong answer, Frank. Learn how to read!

Okay, I'll try harder.

*You* need to learn how to read. As I stated:

"First, there is no Outlook Express 2000"

And in case you have a reading disability, that also means there is no
OE2000. I can read quite well thank you. And I think you need a
basic education in courtesy since you obviously were asleep when
either your parents or teachers talked about it.

Your nasty remarks to Frank Saunders were also uncalled for and have
just earned you a spot on a preciously short list of mine, called
"Ignore forver more this jerk." Goodbye and have a nice life.

Jim, those were my own nasty comments to me. <G>

Ah Hell, looks like one of those days again <vbg>. Guess I owe someone an
apology. So I'm sorry for my comments since I should have noted that. No
excuse such as late at night, etc. Mea culpa.

Nope, that's not it. I mean: that will allow you to send plain text mails in
OE but not in OL when you reply to a mail. That was my question: how do I
force it when you reply to a mail. IMHO impossible in OL...

Tools/Options/Mail Format

Hey Jim,
Cool, you not only cloaked your email addy but you also managed to insult me
2 times in one message! lol

- "you have a reading disability": nope, just a typing disability since I
managed to make TWO typos in ONE mail! What I meant was: "AFAICT there is no
way to do that in OL2000, ar am I missing something?" I did not mean OE2000,
that was merely a typo (yes, <red face>twice</red face>).
- "I can read quite well thank you": when I wrote "Please read:" I was not
implying you cannot read, I was impying "I should have written:"
- "you need a basic education in ... talked about it": first insult, can't
really comment on that one, the only thing I can say is I'm one of the few
people in this ng, like yourself, that posts more replies than questions.
That does say something about courtesy: I try to help others where I can.
That in a way is courtesy since I don't HAVE to do that, right?
- "Ignore forver more this jerk.": second insult but Frank already told you
he wrote that himself, not me.

Sooooooo, my question still isn't solved! lol Replying to a msg in OE6 can
always be plain text but you can't do that in OL(2K). Am I right or am I
right?

;-)

He crossposted to a couple (although the outlook.usage newsgroup is not on
the MS servers), but no one in the Outlook groups is answering.

You are correct as far as I can determine by consulting with Outlook gurus
who concur.

And FWIW, I apologized for my error in impugning your ability to read and
do so again here. The fault was mine.

Thanks.
